Last week we had a MOPS outing to the zoo! I had not been to the KC Zoo in years! In fact I don't remember the last time I was there...I had to be little. It was really fun! Luke appeared to have a good time, but truthfully it is hard to tell at that age if they get the concept of the zoo.
On Saturday we had our first day of soccer! Basically it is a parent and child class where the instructor teaches the kids different direction following techniques. For example: Kick the ball or cones over, stomp on the bubbles, or run to the wall...It was just two other kids that were a bit older than Luke and out of the three only one had a meltdown! It was funny because we all joked about what time we thought our kids were going to have a breakdown in the middle of the class! Luke did well. He is not as advanced in motor skills or following directions as the other kids are, but still managed to hold his own!
And finally the circus! We really did not think we were going to make it 15 minutes into the show without Luke wanting out of his seat! But he once again surprised us! He did GREAT! For the first half of the show he sat in my lap and watched all the activities going on around him! And when they brought out this giant cage and fit 7 motor cycles in it and they raced, Luke and Keller stood up at clapped their hands and cheered! It was so cute! The last half was a little touch and go. After the intermission he got a taste of running around and did not want to sit still. However he made it through it!
We also did some shopping this weekend and got Luke his very first Halloween costume! Here is a hint...He is going as an animal that is very large and has a big nose.... and he looks adorable in it!
