Every year it is a family tradition to take a "White" Family fishing trip. This year it was super special because we were able to take our son!
Luke did pretty darn well on the what should be 5 hour drive to southern Missouri (it ended up closer to 7). We rented a mini van with a DVD player and played Cars and Baby Einstein movies, but truly anticipated him sleeping most of the way down there (did not happen).
When we finally arrived he was only apprehensive for the first few minutes and quickly warmed up and put on his usual charm!
Saturday morning we got up ate breakfast and did some fishing! Dad went first while Luke and I played by the ice cold stream. It was probably truly the highlight of Luke's vacation because it had two things he loves: Rocks and Water. Luke had such a good time that he decided that he would go wading too...I was truly very unsure what we should do...he was soaking wet and the stream was very cold. We let him play for a bit but then changed him and took him in for his afternoon nap.

Dad ended up catching the one and only fish of the trip! It was a pretty decent sized fish and we can't wait to try grilling it this week for dinner! Yummy Trout!
Thanks to Jason's Aunt and Uncle, I am the proud new owner of some very nice waders and boots! It has been a few years since we have gone fly fishing and I forgot how much I loved it!

We truly intended to let Luke fish and catch fish. We even bought him a nice Spiderman fishing pole! When we got it out he promptly began using it as a weapon/bat...so that was that and the pole only saw the water once...
At meal time we went to the cabin that Jason's Uncle had rented for their family to eat together! There were some darn good meals and cooks in that cabin this weekend!
Jason's cousin brought her Grandkids down for some fishing too. They were hands down the best/most well behaved children ever! Luke was so taken with them and they with Luke!
We took quite a few pics...here are just a few more!
Sitting on the fire place at the main house/restaurant.

Luke developed quite the fascination with the wall art...
The fishing family...minus a few very special people...
